STUDENT PROGRAMS
Academic Programs
- Kindergarten - Grade 3: Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, Fine Arts, Physical Education, Computer Technology, Personal Planning
- Grade 4 - 7: Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, Fine Arts, Physical Education, Computer Technology, Personal Planning
- Grade 8 - 12: English, Math, Social Studies, Science, Fine Arts, Industrial Arts, Physical Education, Computer Technology, First Nations, CAPP
- Nuxalk: Kindergarten to Grade 12
Nursery School
- Children age 4 are encouraged to register for this school preparation program. It runs for two hours during the school day, five days per week, with on session in AM and another in the PM. Irene will ask your preference with a switch at mid year.
Breakfast Program
- Students in need of a nutritional breakfast are welcome to take part in this daily service. Students may enter at 8:00 a.m. and must be finished by 8:25a.m. Students must eat in the lunch room. Students from downtown must take the first bus in order to take part in this program.
Lunch Program
- Students in need of a nutritional lunch are welcome to take part in this daily service. Students may enter at 12:05 p.m. and must be finished by 12:45 p.m. Students must eat in the lunch room.
Library
- Reading is an important skill that is necessary for all subject areas. Please encourage your child to sign our, read and bring back the books they enjoy, or need to use. If the books are not returned, they are not available for others to enjoy. Students in Nursery to Grade 7 receive library classes each week. Students can sign books out and take them home. Please find out when your child has library and encourage them to read their books at home.
Lunch and After School Programs
- During the year, students are encouraged to participate in different games and activities that school staff and community members will offer. These programs will be developed and announced in our weekly newsletter and posted on the monthly calendar.
Field Trips
- There will be a number of opportunities for students to go on field trips in and out of the valley.
Intramural
- We are planning to have an intramural program operating at lunch time this year, as well as after school.
Sport Events
- Acwsalcta will continue to join in the various events that take place annually each year.
